Microplastics Community Science Toolkit

Microplastics Community Science Toolkit

Community Scientists are beach cleanup groups, students and community volunteers who use science and technology to identify and address solutions for microplastic pollution on their local beaches while helping to fill global data gaps for scientists and decision makers to influence change.

Use the Microplastics Community Science Toolkit anytime at your local sandy beach(es) to collect real data about microplastics in your community, use our included guides to identify sources and solutions and contribute your data to a global heat map.

The Toolkit Includes

  1. Illustrated resources to learn about microplastic pollution
  2. Sandy beach sampling protocol and 2 stainless steel sieves
  3. Saturna Imaging System to automatically image and analyze your data
  4. Saturna Imaging System User Manual
  5. Sampling training video
  6. Analysis training video
  7. Data evaluation guide
  8. Advocacy and communication tools

5% of every Kit sale will be donated toward the purchase of a Kit for an underfunded school. To sponsor a school please email info@oceandiagnostics.com.
